- 1958, Born in Frankfurt, Germany, ( Dad was Air
Force )
- After 6 months we moved
Madison Wisconsin. The first seven years of my life were spent
here (all good memories).
- After Wisconsin, we move to Oxnard, Calif in
1966, when my dad was stationed at the old Oxnard Air Force Base
(now the Camarillo Airport). The place was all lemon orchards
( it isn't anymore ).
- After
10 months we were sent to Bangkok, Thailand for 2 years.
This is where I started to really have fun. Exploring a new
environment and culture at the age of 9yrs
old is something all children should be able to do, it would do
away with racism.
- After Thailand we went to Sumter, South Carolina,
talk about culture shock. The year was 1969 and I was 11 yrs old
( not too many good memories from here).
- Finally
dad retired from the Air Force and we packed up the kids and moved
to Oxnard ( the best placed we lived ), I was 12 yrs old and in
the seventh grade.
- After graduating High school, I left early because
I had enough credits, I started making sails with a most unusual
bunch of guys.
- 11 yrs and several beers later I decided to get
a real job ( why? ).
- So I got into wastewater treatment ( an industry
not fueled by the ups and downs of the economy ) and was experiencing
rapid growth. That was until I hired in at the Oxnard Treatment
Plant. Life seemed to stand still in the land of long term employees.
Then I got hurt.
- Finally things worked out and I went to school
to learn Network Administration.
- I took a job at Verizon
doing ADSL tech support, did that for 2 years.
- I
helped create a site called SailingAnarchy of
course it is all about sailboat racing
- I work at NuSil Technology doing Visual
Basic and MSSQL programming for almost 3 years.
- I finally could not take working for 8 hours a
day sitting in a wheelchair in a cubicle. So I quit and decided
I had better pursue a paralympic campaign before I get too old.
So here I am
